Yahoo ... We've found a home !!!
Maddy
"Maddy" (L) came to us as a frightened Australian Shepherd. Her guardian was ill and had to find a place for Maddy....so ARFhouse agreed to accept her.
Unfortunately she was a dog who wouldn't allow anyone to touch her. This was a frightening place for her with 40+ dogs running free and barking all day long, and we feared she would never find a home. A few weeks after her arrival, Mary Kay came to ARFhouse, searching for a companion for "Kip", pictured on the right. She especially loved the Aussie and saw hope in Maddy's eyes as she watched Mary Kay pass by her kennel. That was all it took for Maddy to find her place. Mary Kay says Maddy and Kip love each other and play all day. She's a loving dog in a home environment, as most dogs would be. That's what we at ARFhouse want for all of the dogs.

Moxie
Moxie
"Moxie" had been living at ARFhouse for over a year when Steve saw her on PetFinder and came to adopt her. The first week she was with him he e-mailed us that he looked forward during the day to going home to play with her. Tonight we received a e-mail from him saying that they were happy and doing well, but that "Moxie" still has a little country in her because she loves to chase the squirrels and rabbits.
Maggie
Tina and husband, Jonathan" wanted a friend for "Harley", and "Maggie"
is now the perfect companion for all three of them.

Della
Della
"Della" came to ARFhouse as a stray who wandered up to a rural property. She lived here for over a year and although we knew what a wonderful pet she could be for someone, no one was interested in her because she was a mature dog. When Erica visited ARFhouse, "Della" was the girl for her. Happy ending for this sweet girl. Even oldsters sometimes find the right match.
Lollie
"Lollie" (another senior dog) found her new daddy in Chicago through our affiliate group, ARFhouse Chicago.

Sheba
"Sheba" was 5 years old when she arrived at ARFhouse. She found the perfect home with Shelby. Once Shelby saw "Sheba", she said she wouldn't have to search any further for a pet. They loved each other at first sight.

Dillon (after)
Dillon
This pitiful dog arrived on the road in front of ARFhouse with a dog buddy in May 2009. As you can see, he was practically starved to death, as was his friend. We attempted to catch both, but they ran off onto other property and we couldn't follow them. Unfortunately the buddy vanished, but "Delbert", as we later called him, re-appeared nearby. We were able to capture him and promptly took him to the veterinarian, who told us that "Delbert" didn't have mange; his body was reacting to starvation.
It took several months to bring his coat back to normal....and yes, this is the same dog with Diane who adopted him in November, 2009. She named him "Dillon", because he quickly became the marshall of her backyard (as in Marshal Matt Dillon). When Diane arrived at ARFhouse to adopt a dog, she had seen "Delbert's" picture in the newsletter and thought he was the dog for her. He was. It was instant love for them both.

Jessie
ARFhouse Operations Manager, Sammie Kershaw, heard about a dog who had been badly injured and her suffering ignored by her owner. Sammie found out that the owner would surrender "Jessie", along with her 5 puppies since this person claimed she couldn't afford to have Jessie treated by a vet.
The story unfolded from a friend of Sammie's who lived near where Jessie came from. Jessie had been left on a chain w/her 5 puppies nursing, while the owner went on vacation for three days and left her with no one to care for her nor check on her. During that time, the chain wrapped around Jessie's foot several times and took the skin off to the bone. All the bones in her paw were exposed, and when she arrived at ARFhouse a week after this event, the wounds were still bleeding. Unfortunately, not only was this her back leg which gives a dog their support, but she was missing most of her paw on the other back leg. Dr. Brakebill felt that the injured leg had to be amputated, and so it was taken off. Now she desperately needed some support because all she could do was scoot around on her backside.
ENTER Steve Prock and James Thompson of HANGER PROSTHETICS in Sherman, Texas. We visited their office and they promptly made a little cast on Jessie's little stump leg. A week later, Jessie had what we call a "boot" w/velcro straps across and around the stump and can actually run on the property with her friends. (But when she gets tired, she prefers to ride on the golfcart with an employee.)

Logan
Logan
"Logan" (L) was brought to ARFhouse when he and two of his pals were seized by the court here in Grayson County through neglect on the part of his owner. The owner was convicted and the dogs were turned over to ARFhouse permanently. He was adopted by ARFhouse dear friends, Ruth and Tom Wanasek. That's "Murphy", their senior dog, on the right in front of Tom. They tell me that "Logan" is very smart and outshines the other "students" in his training class.

Noah and Jacklyn adopted our "Jenny". Her new name is "Carmelita" ("Lita" for short). "Lita" was one of the Great Pyrenees puppies, and as you can see, she was the "black sheep" in the group.
Vader:
Sharon & Mike Polito adopted "Vader" and they tell us he's fit in well with their older dog "Pepper".
Mazy:
This beautiful young girl is Aidan and she and her family adopted "Wren", whom they've re-named "Mazy". Aidan's dad, Tim, writes that "Mazy" is fitting in well with their other dog and receiving lots of love.
That's what we want to hear. "Mazy" was one of nine Great Pyrenees/lab mix puppies that were born under an abandoned house in a remote area of north Texas. We rescued these puppies and all of them found their forever homes.
Mickey (aka Peppy) & Moo
The Thamsiriboon family (Nakamon, Ford & Siri) adopted "Peppy" (tan puppy) whom they renamed "Mickey", and "Moo". These puppies came to ARFhouse at 3 days old; found at Lake Texoma in north Texas, along with their cocker spaniel mother. She was a great mother and the puppies thrived. All of them found loving guardians.
